K-Pop Groups That Took Years to Receive a Music Show Win

In the K-Pop industry, a music show win is a synonym for success. However, several K-Pop groups took them years and were able to hold fan meetings or concerts outside of Korea before they achieved so-called “success.” Here’s the list of K-Pop stars who took the longest to become No. 1 on music shows’ charts.

EXID
When Hani’s solo fancam went viral, the group’s success was unstoppable. “Up & Down” gave them their first win on M! Countdown, 1,057 days after their debut.

BRAVE GIRLS

They received their first music show win on SBS’ Inkigayo with “Rollin'” breaking the record for having the longest period to get their first win for a girl group in K-Pop history, 10 years after the group’s debut.

NU’EST

After Wanna One ended, the full group got their very first win on MBC’s Showchampion with “Bet Bet” in 2019. NU’EST holds the longest record for the boy groups, with 2611 days after their debut.

BTOB

Debuted in 2012 and was known for powerful ballads and vocals, the group got their first music show win on Show Champion for “Way Back Home” after 1,309 days.

SF9

After three years into the debut, the group earned their first music show with “Good Guy” in 2020 on Mcountdown

VICTON

The boys got their first win through: “Nostalgic Night” on The Show in 2019

Oh My Girl

The girls waited for 1,008 days before their ever-first music show win with “Secret Garden” on The Show in 2018.

Boyfriend

The group debuted in 2014 but got their first win after 1,264 days after on The Show with their song “Witch”.

CLC

The girls were able to bag their first win for “No” on The Show after 1,426 days after their debut.

U-Kiss

It took them almost 7 years or 2364 days to receive a win, with ‘Playground’ in 2015!

Girl’s Day

The group got their first music show win through “Female President” but the episode was canceled on SBS Inkigayo but, they were able to get one with “Something”.

ASTRO

It took ASTRO 1,071 days after their debut and got it with “All Night” in 2019.
