On November 6, Cube Entertainment revealed its official stance regarding the contracts of BTOB members Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Im Hyunsik, Peniel, and Yook Sungjae.
According to the agency, after several discussions with the BTOB members, they have mutually agreed to not renew the group’s exclusive contract.
BTOB made its debut under Cube Entertainment in 2012. They were the third boy group formed by the agency. In 2018, all members of BTOB renewed their exclusive contracts with the agency. After five years, all members have decided to officially part ways with their original agency.
There are no official details yet on the future plans of the group BTOB and the members.
Here’s the official statement of the agency:
Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.
We are issuing an official statement regarding the future of BTOB.
In anticipation of the conclusion of BTOB’s second exclusive contract, extensive deliberations took place between the agency and the members over an extended period. As a result, it has been jointly decided not to pursue contract renewal.
Consequently, Cube Entertainment and BTOB’s Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Im Hyunsik, Peniel, and Yook Sungjae have concluded our remarkable 11-year journey together.
Since their debut on March 21, 2012, BTOB has established themselves as a prominent third-generation K-pop boy group, admired for their exceptional vocal talents and beloved music.
We express our appreciation to BTOB, who consistently delivered performances to be proud of during their tenure as artists under Cube Entertainment, and to MELODY (BTOB’s official fan club) for being a constant source of strength for the group.
Though Cube Entertainment’s association with BTOB has regrettably come to an end, we wholeheartedly give our support for the limitless potential and bright futures of the BTOB members.
Please continue to shower unwavering love upon BTOB as they embark on a new chapter.
Good luck on your future endeavors, BTOB!
